I first met Jerry 10 years ago at the Louisiana District Attorneys Association summer conference. Since that time, we have worked together 2-3 times per year at LDAA conferences, where I teach and also provide music for special events such as prayer breakfasts. These conferences are attended by hundreds of people, and Jerry and his crew do a superb job with audio visual. Having been a musician myself for over 30 years, I know a pro sound engineer when I see one, and Jerry definitely fits that bill. I worked with Jerry and AV Group for 3 consecutive years for the Comparative and International Education Society Conference. The conference is made up of 35 concurrent sessions as well as general sessions. Jerry and his crew handled the AV needs of the conference effortlessly which given the number of concurrent sessions and minimal turn time between sessions is no small feat!
But beyond the technical proficiency, I enjoy working with Jerry not only because I find him personable and professional, but because I respect his customer service model in that he does not “nickel and dime” his clients throughout the conference. If the needs of the conference are properly identified from the start and there is not a drastic change in the scope of the job Jerry doesn’t believe in changing more than what he originally quoted. He doesn’t run the type of AV company that charges you for every extension cord you may need at the last minute. If he has the equipment with him onsite then he’s happy to help you reach your goal without breaking your budget. Considering that many of my clients are on fairly strict budgets this is highly valuable to me.
